Yesterday was my first hunt with my new AT Pro!

We hunted some old cellar holes in wooded areas because the frost is too thick in the open fields. I was using my AT Pro for the first time and my very first target was this 1904 Indian Head. I was pumped! We found some more relics through out the day, but I really liked how the AT Pro.

My brother-in-law wrote some more details about the hunt here: http://www.findmall.com/read.php?83,1860299,1860299#msg-1860299

 Nice find. Here in the frozen north, deep frost in the woods too. Nice seeing the finds of others. :clapping:

Nice.

Still looking for my first indian, what vdi did it hit on?

70s??

Nice way to kickstart the AT Pro experience .. good luck in 2013 !!

Sweet. I have an 05 I believe, I.H. soaking in olive oil since last fall. Yours is in much nicer shape.

n/t

Yeah stinkfoot, I am very pleased with the condition it is in. Does olive oil remove the patina?

Swingbeep,
There was some junk near it when it was in the ground so the VDI reading was bouncing around. I was able to get a good repeatable tone near iron audio and I liked how the ATP handled the junk iron. Once it was out I waived it over the coil and VDI was consistent at 72, if I remember correctly.

It hasn't removed patina from this one but it is a crusty coin. The skuzzy corrosion is coming off in sheets/flakes.
