Yesterday after work...

I hit the soccer fields I have been pounding for a few weeks now. I have cherry-picked a lot of the clad and silver rings(I think), so now I'm just digging the mid-tone signals that notch in on nickle and pulltab and the occasional clad. Will probably go to the foil signals after I've exhausted all of the N/P'tab signals. Here's what I found, a few clads, a bunch of tabs(not shown for obvious reasons)some assorted junk stuff and 2 TINY earrings. The 250 will get the small stuff!! I believe the diamond shaped one is platinum or white gold as it is pretty heavy for its size. There is a TINY, TINY diamond chip at the bottom. The other is stamped .925 so it's silver, for sure. Both rang up solid on the nickle notch, down about an inch. This 250 still continues to impress with what it will find for you. See closeup of earrings on next post.
Happy Hunting all!!

That's a very interesting way to hunt an area....by certain notches at a time. You got some interesting results there John.
So.....if we didn't have jobs, we wouldn't be able to hunt after work. (just a thought <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">)

Oh, it would be terrible, having to hunt whenever we wanted to!!

I know that's not the usual method of hunting, but there is such a large expanse to hunt, and having to do it in small increments of time, it was just easier to swoop over it quickly and get the pesky clad out of the way (No, you can't have the pesky clad)and then slow down and work on the stuff that may or may not be good targets. Now the fun begins, learning what the 250 is telling me with the mid range tones. I do check the occasional foil notch signal, just to see. There seems to be a lot of goodies that notch in on nickle, as well a good deal of junk. Luckily everything at this site is fairly shallow and is easy to recover. My vibraprobe is getting a workout. I might not have recovered those little earrings without it as the soil is a hardpacked, black clay. We call it Black Gumbo here.

Nice finds for sure, but a superb photo! Nice camera work John!
