last week I posted my four silvers in one day .. Had some detector trouble .. Since my detector only acts up when I take the batteries out to recharge .. I bought some new Alkalines and figure Ill run it that way.. Anyhow today was about fifty degrees out and our snow melted... So I made it back to that area I was at last week.. .. Didn't do too good at first ,,, But then I went back to the area I was finding the coins last week .. I found 13 more Wheaties and another NICE MERC .. I was getting ready to leave and got this Beautiful Half sounding signal .. Just like last week!!! .. made my plug... and out pops my FIRST Barber HALF! .. Got my first barber quarter last week .. Now my first Half .. Not that I haven't found better and older coins .. I have two centers ,, Seated's .. large cents ... Just these dang barbers have eluded me all these years ... Wooohoo .. What a way to end the season on a high note :)
Ummm ... I don't want to brag about this ... Cuz it was a good signal.. And I went far enough around the signal to not damage it .. But YES ... I HIT the dang half with my Lesche digger on the backside while digging my hinge ... ...What a bad feeling when I felt that thunk ... sure as $hi& ..its got a good scratch on it .. Ohh well .. Can't be perfect all the time :) ...I am usually good at not damaging my coins!..

Nice work on the Barber, :clapping: Merc, :thumbup: and the Wheat`s. :yo: I am always amazed at what keeps coming out of the ground. There still may be hope for me.

too make matters worse.... over the last ten years or so .. I have a brother in law that has found five Barber halfs..while WE were detecting TOGETHER... " Hey Todd" he yells.." Look!! ANOTHER Barber half!!" I am always happy for him...But Im a lot happier about THIS one ! lmao
 
Way to go !! I remember how stoked I was to find my first Barber half. Funny thing is that it was on the surface with only a coating of dirt on it! My detector screamed and when I just scraped the surface with my digger - a CIRCLE of dirt slid sideways. I thought it was a tin can top at first. Lol
