Just received a used CZ70 pro that is in excellent condition however the interior of the meter has marks on it to me looks like dried condensation..Got it from a old PC friend that is completely trustworthy..Yep Fisher closed early for the holiday so no help there..Any input , ideas or whatever as if if will perhaps cause a malfunction will go back to the sender..Saw, used, owned a lot of digital CZ's and never saw this so this old codger is indeed asking the question...From info from the sender the meter was perfect before it was sent...Don't be shy any ideas fire away....Thanks ahead of time ...Dan

Dan,

Good question. I would imagine if it's dried up, then it should work fine. The bigger question is, why was there moisture or condensation in the first place. Was it sitting in a cool basement for a while, and then taken outside in hotter conditions and it got some moisture inside, or is it a bigger issue in that it was in the rain or splashed on and the insides got wet.

If it was the first case, then I don't think there is too much to worry about...I leave my CZ6a's in the basement and when I go out with them in the Summer, sometimes the meter faceplate gets fogged up but then goes away and no worse for wear. I would imagine the CZ's have some tolerance to those kinds of temp changes since I never had a problem with mine in that regard.

I would be much more concerned if it was in the rain or got splashed and the moisture happened because as you know, they are meant to be splash and dust proof.

Fire it up and see how it reacts.

This appears to be dried and if it happened on a salt water enviroment takes a while but could go gonzo...Works fine in every respect and still accepting opinions but let the tech's answer the question on Monday and will go from there..Cosmetic excellence is one thing but internal accident and believe or not only takes one drop of water especially salt water which will in time defeat the internals..Had an oldie but goodie Garrett AT-3 sold to me which had leaked in salt water many years ago and worked fine for a bit but the went Gonzo and was verified by a Garrett tech. and made good by a local dealer. So one can understand my concern as circuit board and such replacement would be more than the unit is worth...
