Yes. ...99 and 100!

Went to a local beach last night and found a small patch in waist deep water at low tide. Several small depressions, prefect for "catching" rings!

Concentrated hard listening for tiny signals as there was nothing on the surface!

First find is a reasonably new 9ct Signet ring! Yes, I thought. ...99! 100 can't escape me now!

Decided to stick in the same area and about 30 minutes later out popped a very very old 18ct pearl and ruby ring. There are three stones, 2 ruby and 1 pearl (one ruby missing). Still so happy for number 100, I would have accepted a squashed 9ct ring!

Photos attached. Just proves if you set a target...you will achieve it!

Is that a ruby? It is very pink? Def an older 18ct ring, it was in black sandy mud and very very hard to clean (think i need to get an ultrasonic cleaner)

Cheers steve. Appreciate your posts on the forum throughout 2014. Would love to try out a sdc2300 as the only thing that drives me nuts with the ATX here is NZ is hot rocks! They are so frustrating! If anyone has any advice on the ATX and hot rocks let me know!

Very well done,a nail biting finish when it was stuck at 98,a tremendous year for you for sure :clapping:

Like Steve alluded to, try GB over one of the hot rocks. The tip was in one of the Garrett videos.

If the pearl is real, the ring has not been in salt water very long as salt water will dissolve real pearls.
Also pearls should never be put into an ultrasonic cleaner, as with some precious stones, like emeralds.

Today many of us can only dream of 100 rings in a year. I did meet a detectorist who back in the 70s got into a drained swimming lake and after about an 18 hour hunt he finally gave up from exhaustion ...

with over 300 GOLD RINGS,

countless silver rings, silver coins, most of which were silver. The last 6 hours of his good fortune was shared with one of his detecting friends.

And they were all found with a land detector! If only a few more virgin area existed, one for each of us!

May the ring of gold be in your ears and its glitter in your scoop!
(In the coming year...so you can keep up the great, inspiring posts.)

cheers guys....appreciate your posts....brought me luck as now 101 GOLD RINGS for 2014! (18 ct band)

Went out day before yesterday for an hour at a different beach. Not hoping or caring for much. Spent 30 minutes or so trying to help a friend get the hang of detecting, found a signal and called him over to he could "size it" - as he digs a ton of crap!

Dug down, and out popped an older 18ct female wedding band!

Ring as just up from the low tide mark, basically under some rocks and stones and black sand....

Ha! I knew you'd go back out after hitting 100 you greedy b@s$%&!:lmfao:

Simply outstanding to watch you work this year! Congratulations! :clapping::beers:

You had better do a nice story with pics and send it into Garrett for the last chance to win a free metal detector.

Not a bad idea! I may write a account for them today if I have the chance! Guess will be good advertising for the ATX
