tried to up load the video, aint happening. took a pic of the video stopped. Cant see much but let me tell ya, I had to lay it down running. I hit a solid 89 VDI, had some leaves on top of the ground that I attempted to move by hand, then here they come! yellow jackets everywhere. Two stung me on the hand before I could it the ground running. I left the AT Pro on the stump beside them and the shovel also. I regrouped and found an old plow point and hay wire, attached the point to the wire and threw it over the AT Pro and retrieved it by hanging it on the coil, same with the shovel. In south ga we will gas them at night and use the larva for fish bait after digging the nest from the hole. There are normal 3 to 4 layers of nest under ground and the bottom layer can be 3 foot wide. Will give update on the success of the dig. Ahhhh life in the south, lol

I wasnt gonna tell it but what the heck , when I got stung on the hand a friend on mine was detecting with me. He was aboout 20 ft away laughing at me running. Then one stung him above the right eye on the forhead. His laughing stopped:lmfao:

:yikes: Reminds me of those hornets nest we come accross
when I'm detecting in the shrubs.
Never see them till you nudge the nest:rolleyes:

Man...nothing worse then disturbing a ground nest! Did that once went I was a teen and and got stung head to toe...23 times. Glad you guy's are not allergic to bees.

Hate to hear that , least you got the Atpro back! I hate bees of any sort, hank

Only thing worse than yellow jackets is getting fire ants up your pants. As a kid in Georgia I fell in a mound of them and got stung all over.

I've paid those dues once myself. Seems like no matter how fast you move you still get stung several times..... you have my condolences! Glad you got your equipment back OK.

Is this what the nest looked like ???
There are ground Hornets and them big bumble bee's that live in the ground....
I got into some ground hornets one time,, thought i was going to die...
Stay way from them...

Go Go,,,,,I did a google search and found that nest,,,,its a wonder the whole hive did not come out and attack them,,they were lucky....
I was attacked by a nest of ground hornets,, I thought I was going to die and I had a shot after they got me.....Stings use to not bother me,, then things changed.
