That's amazing! 4 rings in one week. Where are you hunting, inside a jewelry store? Seriously, what type place are you looking?

My hunting buddy and I found a fresh water beach that it seems has never been hunted. It is a very popular lake for water hunting. I guess no one else thought about hunting the beach (grassy area of the beach,) When I say beach it is not sand but grass. We found it by accident.......Jack

So far at this "beach" in about four or five months we have found 28 gold items at this "beach". 24 have been rings and 3 have been gold ear rings. My wife went with us once. She is not an avid hunter but she found three gold rings in one afternoon. Two 14K and one 10K. We do not hunt for old coins anymore as they are getting too hard to find. Jewelry replenish itself every week. So we decided to specialize in jewelry hunting. We hunt other places also such as tot lots.....Jack

That is great. Where there are lot of people there is jewelry. When I was in Fl. jewelry was much easier to find. Here in WV it doesn't come around too often. I know people that MD in rural areas get real frustrated because they can't find jewelry. It is sort of like fishing. You don't fish for trout in Ft. Worth. You need a cold mt. stream. We need to except the area we live in and adjust our MD to where it can be most rewarding, like you did.

Hey Robert: You may not necessarily live in the wrong place. To be able to find a certain item regular I think you must specialize in looking for that item. A fisherman who fishes 5 days a week and someone who fishes once or twice a month, The one who fishes the most is more likely to score more often than the one who does it sometimes. I like finding gold jewelry so that is what I spend most of my metal detecting time doing.....Jack

Hey nice finds Jack,
Looks like you stumbled on your own wee private goldmine.
Hit it hard before anyone else gets to it.

Well, your absolutely right about that!
Hope to get out of Indiana in the next couple years or so
and get back to Washington State where we DO have
some beaches. The lakes here in Indiana are susually off limits
to MDing though I'm sure some people take their chances anyway!
I'd like to get back to Bandon and Coo's Bay in Oregon as well. Some
great beach and Sand Dunes!

As much as I'd like to leave the country and get back
down under with the Aussies, thats not goping to happen.
Love it here in the US too much.

Regards
Robert R:detecting:
