Yee Haw F4 On The Way

I ordered a F4 awhile ago from my dealer but he was told about the F4 having a defectivie part so I got the 1236-X2 instead because I didn't want to wait for the release of the new batch of F4's. The 1236 is a nice machine but I really wanted to try the F4, well I ordered one today and can't wait to get it & give it a work out (hopefully this weekend). I was wondering if the F4's has what I call the "little Fisher problem" - where you have to use Energizer brand batteries because anything else is a nightmare to get out when it is time for replacements. I am hoping that the F4 has a battery compartment that isn't as tight. Energizers are good batteries but sort of expensive. Honestly I wish all detectors used double A's instead of 9 volts. I will post my thoughts on the F4 after I get a chance to try it out & all info/thoughts & opinions/ from you's using a F4 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Steve. (upstate New York)

P.S. I sold my 1236 to a long time Fisher user & he wasn't aware that Energizer batteries won't swell in the heat and they are smaller in size so they are easy to replace. He is from Azizona where it gets hot and he appreciated me telling that little bit of info. So anyone having a hard time getting them 9 volts out give the Energizers a try.

Whiz, let us know how you like the F4. Have a brother in law looking for a new detector soon. Hes never detected before and I think this puppy might be a great starter for him. The F75 is a little out of his price range also. With the 4 coil options for it already and the low price of them I am thinking about trying one out myself after some post about it.
