Year in review. Other wise my totals for the year.:detecting:

With the type of MD'ing I do I will never get the most coins, nor lots of rings. Although I get some of each. Some places I MD'ed took me time to get there. Not like stopping off at the neighborhood school. I am a dreamer and like adventure.

It has been a year of making adjustments in my MD'ing since my move from Fl. I had to relearn my Ace in this mineralized soil here. The first place I went detecting was the worst soil, being laced with coal and I was ready to throw my detector in the woods. No place has been as bad as that old park and things have gotten a lot better.

I came up with a lot of variations in my finds. I also find a lot of unusual pieces of metal and tokens. 17 tokens and 7 miner's tags. Some tokens were old good luck and some were old company money.

My coin count was low, but my wheat count is 223. 30 of which is in coin holders in my coin book. I try to collect a coin for every year and every mint. My book is heavy. These are the left overs.

I got my oldest coin this year in Jan. 1839 large cent. I got 5 one cent coins from the 1800's this year.

3 nickels from the 1800's, the oldest being an 1882 shielded nickel.
11 mercury's oldest were two 1917s.
7 silver quarters oldest 1902.

5 Buffalo's and all the war nickels plus a few extras.
1 Welsh pound
1 Bermuda quarter
1 Panama quarter
An Australian 1943, 3 pence.
1907 and 1941 Canadian quarter.

I collected copper and lot of metal not shown.
I hope to do CW relic detecting this year.
That is my year in review. Thanks for looking and your support this past year.

You had a great year John. I like old versus new, Give me an old area any day. I rally enjoy your posts. I hope your 2008 is a prosperous as 2007..........or more:thumbup:

Really nice finds John, I'd be proud to show all that off. You've done very well not even considering the move from Florida, and you seem to have a knack for finding places to search. Best wishes for continued good luck in the new year!

Steve

Thanks to you I keep my eyes open to every marble I can find. I didn't say anything about all the marbles I have found. I found a clay marble in a hole with a coin.

Hey you done good. Not how much you find but how much fun you had finding it. That's what it's all about.

Bill

Considering your move from Fl. to W.Va,
I think you did a great job of adapting your style of hunting and winning.
You've made some grand finds there John, I'd be proud to show that lot as well.
Well done youngish man. (from an older man)

Now for my protest as I don't have my country flag. This will be a feature of my posts until I do have my own country flag. Since I'm Scottish and not British.
