Yay, I fixed my eliptical 6.5 coil !

Yes, I had a short in my coil from the factory. Used it once never was right. Set it in the closet forgot about it. Well took it out today and set out to fix it. Well I did. Had a short in the plug. One of the solder points were touching the inside of the metal plug. I wrapped the joints with electrical tape and walla. Ground balances perfect, gets targets at 6 inches or more. I am happy. Good job sometimes it is better to look yourself than send it in.
 
Glad to hear you fixed it. My 6.5 coil wasn't working right so I called Fisher and sent it in a couple of days ago. Not sure how long it will take to get it back.
 
I had the exact same problem with the stock coil on my F70 that I got on E-Bay for $300.
With a magnifying glass I was able to see the short , resolder, and tape the connection.
