Yahoo Maps

I was fiddling around on Yahoo maps looking at my favorite sites to MD and looking for others using their satellite feature and noticed that my favorite coin site which is now a grassy field was a baseball diamond whenever that satellite photo was taken. Gave me a few ideas on different spots to try out there.

I next looked at the town park and the high school which is right across the street. Saw all the changes that have been made and got a few more ideas.

Now for my question and be honest.

Have you ever returned to a site that you were asked to leave, in my case the high school, say early on a Sunday morning and poked around? Maybe without a digging tool?

I have to admit that I'm thinking about it.

Chris[/quote]Well, in California, if you are asked to leave a property and you go back, you are subject to arrest for trespass.

The only way you go back and hunt is to get the OK from the head person. Either write their name and phone number down or better - get a sighned letter. Now if the head person told you no then you'll have to find somewhere else to hunt. Or if you want to stir it up - ask then for documentation that states no hunting.

I guess technically I wasn't asked to leave the property I was asked not to dig on the property. The high school functions as a community center at many times and is accessible to the public unless classes are in session. It's a huge piece of property. Built on the site of an old 9 hole golf course, incidentally.

I didn't want to reopen the discussion but was merely asking if anybody had ever detected or dug where they were asked not to. I can see why nobody would want to admit to it so I'll retract the question. I do recall at least one poster admitting to it in the past month. He never posted if he actually went back.

When the principal who told me I couldn't dig on high school property leaves, or is fired, I'm going back the next day that school isn't in session and resume my searching. How's that?

Sorry to kick a dead horse.

Chris

I would ask the superintendent before giving up. Walk in to the office in nice clothes and ask if you could scan the property with your detector arfter school hours or on the weekends. I don't like the word - no. You might get a yes?
