Yahoo, Big Silver

I started my day off working a town square park that was pretty well picked over but I did manage to find a nice 1887 IH. It was a real crappy signal and I'm not sure why I dug it but I'm happy I did. Then I went to another town and worked their town square park. I've been to this place before with my X505 and did ok there an I wanted to see how good the Etrac would do there. You have to go super slow there because of all the trash. I found 2 wheat's right off the bat and then nothing for a long time. I was getting tired of digging rusty nails " I'm still having problems with rusty nails" and hearing all the trash so I went across the street an worked the curbs in front of the church where I found the Silver quarter, that made me happy. After that I went across the other street and worked the curbs at the city parking lot and that's where I got a 01-47 an jumping just a lil. I was hoping for another silver quarter but got a big surprise when I pulled that Barber Half out of the ground, Yahoo..... Not long after that I called it a day and headed home, I was tired....

Now you're logging.....!!!!! Dug a few nails myself today trying to make something happen in a couple unproductive spots....lol

Beautiful coins...!!!!!!

Way cool man!

Rusty nails lead to deep silver! Unfortunately!

If detecting were easy everyone would be doing it, sometimes i think everybody is!

Awesome Barber!!! Still waiting to find one of those. Congrats on yours!

Congrats on a great hunt !

Great job Mark! Thanks for the pictures.

NebTrac

Nice Barber half Mark! it is thrilling and kind of a shock when you see those barber halves come out of the ground.

Deeply buried bent nails will fool many of us. But to give you better odds......after you get what you think is a good hit on a deep target, sweep back and forth over it, making a mental note of the exact location. (blade of grass, pebble, etc.) Then switch to Sizing Pinpoint and go over the same target again. If it is NOT in the same exact location as it was in the detect mode, it won't likely be a coin. Thanks Randy, I'll have to give that a try.

The joys of going through the learning curve of a new MDer, lol
