....A few years ago I was down there, lookin out through them trees, when I remembered reading in some THing mag to"Detect under the trees where big branches grow out -Kid magnets, coins in pockets"etc.......WELL,I grabbed the old DEE-TECTOR,and searched underneath this branch that grew out about 9'off the ground about 20'out from the tree.WELL:Sure as shootin,I found a Walking Liberty half, mercs, and Wheaties,in a pile 3"down; under this tree branch-AND they were ALL from the '40's!!!(Back then,I imagine that branch was probly5-6' off the ground)........hangin upside down, bombs away......LOST,till I got there!!! Im also finding all these junk rings in the same spot, same depth as the coins-I betcha they had a big carnival in there years ago, probly where they came from.........ALL these trees are at least 6-10 feet around at the base.I ALSO FOUND-Leaning up against the base of ANOTHER TREE there-AN EX-ACTO KNIFE,WITH THE BLADE IN IT!!!-Almost got it stuck in my hand when I grabbed it:sadwalk:..........the main area that Ive found the most old stuff is an open field probly300 yards wide,by 500 yards long-a paved road follows the perimeter of this field;woods on 1 side, the lake and 1 beach on the other.I use my Garrett 1350GTP with the big coil on that field,to cover more ground.Im hoping to find my 1st Class Ring, and Gold Coin there this year!!!

I have found many coins underneath trees and they are a good place to look as well as around and under bleachers, by football goals and the concession stands! People lose money everywhere when having fun and are careless about change falling out of their pockets, especially kids when hanging upside down, but Cliff and I in the 40's didn't have any money to lose, as we didn't have much growing up on the farm! Maybe kids in the cities and towns had some money to lose, though! May God Bless you with nice finds and have fun doing it! Amen! Ma Betty
