xterra 705 problem

Ok so I have had my xterra less then a year. I use it a couple times a weekz and I am pretty rough on my machine. I do keep it clean. So last week when I turned it on switched to all metal mode The thing starts blinking in pinpointer mode display is jumping back and forth with Ps then a minute later Pa but wont come out till i turn it off. Turn it on in a discrimination pattern it does the same thing. Any help or suggestions mikee

I believe that I would first change the batteries to be sure that they were fresh and had no connection problems. Then I'd do a full factory reset as described on pgs46-47 in the manual.
Then I'd see if it worked. If so...cool! If not...send it in.

Thanks I have done both 2 wice each. Still no luck. First to new duracells then cheap sunbeam brand, did factory reset after each

Well....sorry.
I'd be on the phone to Minelab CS in the morning.
Neither "Ps" nor "Pa" are normal trouble codes, but they may mean something to a tech. So it may be something that they can diagnose over the phone.
If not, then they can tell you where to send it.

Actually i think it is just switching between pipoint auto and pinpoint eizing. I sent them email yesterday but will be callling tomorrow.cthank you again this is 2 nd time and 2 nd board you have helped me with issues. Thank you and Happy holidays

That sounds like a faceplate issue, so it is likely going to need to be sent in.
Good thing that it's still under warranty, 'cause that repair would run $100.

Yes but that means no more detecting this year. I off work till 2 nd had planned nothing but. Oh well things happen

Ok everyone thanks for the help. Talked to minelab this morning and control box is already in the mail. Happy Holidays and HH
