I use the 6" HF DD coil in all metal mode. ground balance manually slightly positive for a lil extra sensitivity and depth. or you can run auto balance and turn tracking on. I have only had trouble with hot rocks a couple times but if you switch over to coin/relic mode while sweeping over a hot rock it will give you a bad tone/ID. Also try running over the hot ones in different directions and you'll find that you will only hit on them at certain angles. good luck
