Xterra 70 coils - waterproof ?

New member
I'm wondering if any of the Xterra 70 coils are completely waterproof. I don't mean just getting splashed but totally immersed in a foot or 2 of water.
Any knowledegable comments will be appreciated.
thanks

All of the coils are waterproof EXCEPT the 6 X 10 Elliptical DD which is considered to be "water resistant". If you are going to take your elliptical for a swim, you'll need to waterproof it. Some suggest using a bead of silicon around the edge of the coil cover (where it meets the coil) and applying some where the cable enters the coil. In all instances, do NOT get the housing controls wet. JMHO HH Randy

A similar inquiry to MineLab support brought the following response: All Minelab open style coils (you can see through areas between the coil rings) are waterproof. Most Minelab solid disc style coils (oval or round) are waterresistant. Although Minelab does have two 6-inch waterproof disc style coils.

Don't credit me with the attached chart, I found it when researching the X-Terra series. I would list the proper credits but I forget where it was found. Thumper III
