The audio drops out sometimes but the visual is ok. Don't know if I have walked across good targets or not with no audio. Has anyone else experienced this problem.
 
I have the same thing happening to mine. I do not use the headphones but will try the what you suggested.
 
I unplugged the headphones and still no audio. Tapping lightly on the side of the detector restored the audio. It comes and goes. I have to watch the meter all the time when I hunt with my Xterra 50.
