Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Xterra 50 Question

I sold my wifes Xterra 50 to buy a newer xterra 705 and i tested it before i shipped it USPS and it worked fine. The guy that recieved it says he cant get it to work. I told him to try NEW batteries and make sure they are in correctly. He said he tryed that and no luck. Any Ideas? I did insure it for 300.00 just in case it got damaged but ive never had anything not work when it arrived. I dont know if the box got dropped or thrown and a wire came loose or what. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Does the unit at least turn on? If so he may have a loose coil connection. If the unit does not even come on I would suggest the very light pulling of the spring inside of the head. He may have just dropped the batteries in the unit and caused the spring to compress.

Was the unit still under warranty to you? If so let him send it back, send to ML and let them fix it? I really am not sure, Beale.
 
Maybe he is trying to scam you have him to send it back and see for your self. Although I did have problem with my 50's battery springs it would shut off sometimes and hard to get to come on sometimes have him check the springs.
 
I am the man whom bought the 50 from Staloch. It is deader than a door nail? I wanted to return it to him,but that is not one of his things to do?
I've checked the coil connection and the batteries are in right and tight,what next!
To send it to Minelab,for a check up and repairs ? The shipping,both ways and unknown cost of repair plus the month i won't have it,i could have bought a close out model 50 for less!!!!
 
Won't even power up? I know some head phones have a switch that has to be in the correct position or no sound.

It is deader than a door nail? And that is with new batteries? Check the battery spring.

The batteris are new,3 sets i tried. The door on the battery box,when you go to close it,has spring tension,from the springs on it!
I will not stretch the springs,i should not of had to do anything but install batteries and go for it?
I am so frustraided[sp]! It is 69* and i can't take it for a walk!!!!!!!!!
 
maybe you didn't put in batteries right, there's an xterra 70 on another forum itials T. D. for $450 with three coils. Though one is another minelab coil. That is an awsome deal. I'd buy if i had the xtra dough
