XT70 Smaller coils

Hi, I'm new around here and know you guys have posted heaps on smaller coils etc etc. The success I've had with smaller coils on all my detectors, not just the X Terra, is really great. Lowering the sensitivity and slowing down the swing speed leads to increased finds of what others have missed. I guess I'm not telling most of you anything that you dont already know, but maybe a newbie (like myself) can pick up a pint without going back through all the posts. Looking forward to sharing experiences etc. instead of just reading. HH Sapper.

G'day Sapper.
Welcome to the forum. It's great to have new folks sign on and share their experiences as it adds to the diversity of knowledge.
I'm glad you're enjoying the 6in coil. As you have slowed down your sweep speed, you're certainly going to hear a good target close to rubbish that others swinging fast are going to miss. Good point!
All the best.
Mick Evans.

Hi Mick, have read many of your posts on a couple of forums. Great to make contact... I'm in Tamworth. I love the X Terra, but I'm really a Tesoro man impersonating an ordinary metal detectorist. Hope to share some great experience in the future. HH Sapper.

Welcome Sapper.

Had my x- 70 for a year or so. Spent the first month like i was using a wipper snipper! Slow down and enjoy the History you will find.
Love those half-sovergns, its the sweetest sound ever.Mark

Hi Mark, I haven't had the pleasure yet of finding a sovereign or half-sovereign..several gold rings, but no "real" gold...I guess that's what keeps us going..thanks for the welcome, Sapper.

Welcome to the forum Sapper...a lot of real smart people here that can and will answer most of your questions. Probably the best forum on the net. And you have the best detector on the market. Welcome and HH TomB

Thanks all, for the warm welcome. Yes, Tom the XT 70 is a great detector, and one that I seemed to take to very quickly. I could go on, but anyone who has used one knows the good features, so I dont think I'll try to teach my grandmother to suck eggs, as it were. HH, Sapper.

I've been at this hobby for over 35 years. And one thing I am convinced of is that (in my part of the world) there are more old coins still hiding out there due to adjacent targets, opposed to extreme depth. Having a detector/coil combination that can separate those targets is #1 in my book! Thanks for stopping by and saying hello. We look forward to your posts. HH Randy
