XT70 owner thinking about a Sov. GT

I have been lurking around here from the X-Terra forum as I'm about to pull the trigger on a new Sovereign GT. However, is there an FAQFAQ section for the Sovereign like there is for the X-Terras?? Thanks.

No . In fact you will often see the same questions asked two or three times in just a couple days.
The same questions are asked repeatedly.
Usually if you do a search you will find a horde of information. Regrettably you will get a lot of conflicting information too.

The GT is a great detector and is easy to use. There is just enough features to make it work well most anywhere without being complicated or confusing. Learning the tones is the only learning curve you have to adjust to. As Art said there is over 150 pages of information in the Archives. Not so much conflicting information but more like different preferences for different ground conditions and hunting styles. There is nothing set in stone when using a detector and you just have to experiment and use what works for you.

GT is a deeper machine. A friend owned the top Xterra and sold it because he kept getting fooled by junk coin signals. Any machine will do that but not as much as his did. If they made a 3khz 12" coil for it I might buy one to add to my line up. Search this forum and you'll find more info on that machine and the GT.

We do really need the moderator to start putting stickys at the top of the forum for key info on using a Sovereign, the ID charts, coils available, comparisons to other machines, etc. They do it in other forums, why not here?
