XT 50 on Gold

I keep reading about how great the XT70 is on gold, Would the XT50 be just as good with the 18.75 DD coil on it for gold? I'm thinking of getting the X50 if I sell my whites IDX pro. My other dilema is I love my IDX pro and don't want to sell it and regret it later even though it won't sniff any nugs. I watched the X50 video and read Montes review and he feels it's the most fun detector he's ever used. Sorry for all the questions, do you think the X50 with the stock coil goes deeper than my IDX with the MR Bill mod for general coin shooting?
Thanks.......Colorado John

with its 7.5 and 18.75 Khz frequency options does not make any sense to me. Why did ML chose to make the second frequency 18.75Khz?? The 50 does not have a prospecting mode, has less ability than the 70 to get a good balance to bad ground and has no tracking ability. The "all metal mode" is not a true all metal so no increase in sensitivity to small stuff that most all metal modes give. It does not make sense to me! Maybe they thought it would be good for jewelry hunting?

What the 50 should have been equipped with is the lower 3Khz freq and the multi tone options of the 70. Given the way ML set up the tones and notches it makes the 50 a dud for relic and dig-it-all type hunting which should be one of its primary uses.
A coins only machine for occasional jewelry hunting is what you get with the 50. Just my 2 zincs.

Hello Jangles,
I've used both detectors you mentioned,
Whites IDX Pro with mods and the X-Terra
50 for coin hunting new and old.. The X-Terra 50 is deeper
in my soil here in West Tennessee; on the other
hand the obvious is true.. You have a great coil
selection with the IDX Pro and the X-Terra 50 has
very few to choose from especially in the small
coil department...

My x50 works really good for me on the beach or relic hunting coins, gold you name it and the depth is just fine.:super:
