It came up with a few good finds again this morning. It's hard
to find a dollar these days. Does anyone recognize the markings on
the ring?, its made out of copper.

Killer find man , dollars are tough to find, I think its because when they got dropped people would notice and pick them back up, that dollar is a great score.........and the ring markings say ........sovereign kicks azz .........or some other thing ..............good one man .........

Great finds,I agree the Sovereign is a great metal detector.Just curious how deep was the dollar and which coil did you use.

Ron, I would like to have said it was 10 inches, but it was'nt. It
was only about 2-3 inches and I was using the 8 inch BBS

Thanks Adam, a dollar was a lot of money when this one was lost and I
imagine the guy went without bread and milk for a few days (or beer)
The ring was a perfect fit and I thought I might clean it up and wear
it if it did'nt say azzhole in some forgein language. But as long
as it say soverein Kicks azz, I'll wear it.

I use the 800 Tornado coil a lot and feel its a very underrated coil. The 800 coil pinpoints well great depth and good separation and light.I have had some of my older better coins at the 3-4 inch level, actually I was disappointed they weren't deeper.

I have a real killer site here. I have a 10 inch also, but the weeds
and grass are so thick and tall I thought the 8 inch would pull
through them better. I have a 5 inch I'll eventually use when I work
my way down to the old school house ruins (very trashy). I walked
over this dollar a while back with the explorer and did'nt find it.
A couple of weeks ago I sent the explorer back to the dealer and told
him I did'nt think it worked right. He concurred and Minelab told him
to send it to them. When I finally get it back I'll run it over the
area I did today. I really do like the sovereign though.

The Explorer is a great unit, but the Sovereign works better for my hearing. How about the penny and ring on depth found.

Both the penny and the ring were at about the 4 inch range. Most of
the coins I've found at this site have been about 4 inches.
