xs2a pro tone id

I am thinking go buying a used xs2a pro as a back up to my sov gt or loaner to try and get some friends involved. I have read that the xs2a has a wider range of tone ID than that of the GT. Opinions from those who have used both would be appreciated.

I have both.
I had the tone adjusted up a little on the 2a to a point that I liked it on coins.
I adjusted the GT up to the same freq as the 2a. They are both the same now......both alike between high and low tones.
This was done with a frequency counter to get them matched.

I have read that also and have to agree with Art. I have a couple of Sovs, the XS model and the GT models and the tones are the same to my ears, I dont think they have changed at all.

Only possibility for a difference in a spread in range or the range itself......
David at dixie does something with it. My detectors are stock with no dixie mods.
When I set up the high end to match, the low ends matched also.

So it is not different between detectors unless David did a mod to change the spread or there is a difference between components.

You can slide it up or down with the internal adjustment to suit your taste. would be nice to have access through a small hole so you don't have to take it apart for the tweek.

Hah! They drilled the holes for my meter mounting bracket at about the 11:00 o'clock position on the rod, so I doubt they could muster the precision needed for the hole that you want.

Thanks Art, I never thought of it that way.
