XS v/s S

I have the opportunity to purchase an Explorer S for a good price. Other than some bells and whistles, will I be missing much? All help with this is appreciated. Thanks
Paul

The "S" model is exactly like the "XS" in performance. The only thing you'll be missing out on is a few extra features that lend themselves more to convenience than performance. The main ones? One-touch noise cancel button (you have to access the menu and select/scroll to the noise cancel feature on the "S") and the ability to save custom programs.
As is stated on Minelab's website:
<tt>"Both detectors use the Smartfind two-dimensional discrimination system and have equal depth. The Explorer XS however has a number of more advanced features which allows the operator to personalize the discimination pattern to their requirements."</tt>
If the extra features are no big deal to you, then the "S" is the model for you. A list of the differences between the "S" and "XS" can also be found in the link below (from the Minelab website).
Hope this helps.
