XS finally crapped out:cry:

Well, I finally had to send my XS to Minelab for repairs this morning. Talked with Trina and she says that there is about a 30 working day wait for turn around on repairs. Luckily a buddy of mine has an extra XS that I can borrow so I won't have total withdrawal symptoms without my own XS. Hopefully they can figure out what the problems are make her like new once again. I'm also hoping the problems will show up on their work bench as they do while out in the field. Some of the problems would not repeat for me in the house so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.:thumbup:HH.

Thay will find it Eddie, So what the phone # you called you talked with a Trina I dont remember her????? mickfin

I have only conversed with her by email. Her full name is Trina Bonney and she is the Operations Manager for Minelab in Las Vegas. I'm sure they will find out what was causing all my problems and I'm just glad my buddy has a spare XS that I can use. Being without my Minelab for 30 days or longer would be pure, well you know. HH.

Last year my buddy sent in his XS and they returned it saying it couldn't be repaired. He sent it back and they sent him a new SE. He has the machine, so it is a blievable story.

Good to hear that a buddy had an extra Explorer XS for you to use while yours is in the shop getting repaired. Hope you get it back real soon and works like new. Good Luck and HH!

It could be a bad power button. What ever it is that was causing all the problems I'm sure Minelab can fix her up again just like new. I picked up my buddies XS that he is letting me borrow till I get mine back so my withdrawals of having mine in for repairs has gone away now.:clapping: Good luck on your next hunt. HH.

Eddie

Your buddies XS must have really been toasted if Minelab couldn't repair it. I don't think I will get a new machine and hopefully my problems are fixable. Guess I'll find out between now and about 30 days. HH.

You won't be sorry for going with Minelab if you want to find the old stuff and the deep stuff for sure. Like I said, use your factory preset settings till you get the hang of it and tune your ears in for what your SE is telling you. I don't know that much about the SE, but Bryce the forum moderator has the SE and I'm sure he would be more than happy to give you some advice. HH.

I sent my XS in recently after buying a new SE Pro. It took about 20 days, but when it came back it seems to recover quicker! Don't know all that they did, but I like it. I know they replaced the cam locks and phone jack, but they did some tuning also - they had to have to make it work this quickly. Minelab has good service, you will be please with the results i'm sure.
