General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

So I guess I am testing Xpointers customer service. I got the xpointer in Aug and have had no issues. ..... Till Last night. While turning it on I held it up in the air as ususally and at 90 degrees the unit was on if i tuned it upright it shut off?... I have never dug or scrapped with it at all. I baby my toys aswell. So I got home and took the battery out and one of the battery contacts was gone. I am still on the original battery so I have never opened it since aug to place the battery in? well Ill keep ya posted and see how this goes.....

I find the manufacturing consistency for Chinese made electronic products "hit or miss" unless dealing with world renowned brands...
So when people say this or that is also made in China - I say the quality from factory to factory varies dramatically.
 
Just bought an xpointer. Hoping I don't have this issue as it seems somewhat common.
Let us know what happens.
 
I dont own a Xpointer yet,but when a new item comes to market i always give it a minimum of 12 time duration before i make a final decision to buy something,just incase a possible problem/s start to evolve.Not say this is the case with this pinpointer but a few folks have mentioned about this battery contact problem,yes they will be covered by the warrenty but its the time involved in sending them back is the main problem.

Still wont change my buying criteria when buying anything,hope you get the problem resolved quickly.
 
So far, mine has been fine. I read somewhere else where a guy got one delivered with the battery connector loose. He said he just resoldered it ( and it was no biggy to him), as it was going to take 2 weeks to get it replaced.
 
He was the go to guy for a NEL question as well. I think he is the distributor for NEL and XPointer in the US.
 
I want to say thank you so much to Ron.. I sent mine in yesterday and Boom new one at my door today.. Amazing service
