XP Deus help

RonO

New member
I moved to Ecuador last year, shortly after buying an XP Deus. I just unpacked my detectors and found out the Ecuadorian dime, quarter, and half dollar coin (Ecuador uses the U.S. dollar as currency) will not "sound off" with any of the factory programs. My Deus has the 3.2 programs. The U.S. minted coins work properly including the Sacagawea dollar, which is the most entensively used coin down here. Have any of you ever experienced anything like this with any foreign cfurrency? If so, what is the solution? Thanks, Ron..

Are any of the lower denomination coins have steel or iron in them? run you coil over them with no discrimination and see what TID they come in at. I'll bet that they are nickel plated steel. check them with a magnet too...

I did and you are right. The Ecuadorian coins are being discriminated out due to the iron content. Thanks to all who replied.

Enjoy post your finds. Are you enjoying living there? Thinking of being an Expat.
