I would like some imput from any one who is willing to share it. I currently use an xlt and am considering another machine for gold etc. I had thought I wanted a gmt ; but after talking to a few ;it sounds like the mxt is the way to go. Any in put;would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve...I've never used the GMT but I've had my MXT for nearly a year. I did alot of research on this before I bought it and I read in more than one place that the MXT is pretty much the GMT with a CJ circuit added giving you two machines in one. Some of the field tests claim that it's a better nugget shooter than coin shooter. If you can get your hands on a copy of the "MXT EDGE" by Jeff Foster, read up on it. Goes into great detail of all modes. I didn't really realize the machine I was getting when I chose the MXT. Good luck with your choice.

Steve, the XLT, operating in the Prospecting Mode, and optimally tuned, will find nuggets from about 7 grains and larger, and then only about an inch deep. (Yes, soil conditions WILL influence the above stats.) The MXT, operating in the Prospecting Mode, and optimally tuned, will find flakes (on the surface) as small as 1/4 grain. The MXT will find 7 grainers (about) 6 inches deep, again, soil conditions will vary such performance. Obviously, the MXT notably outperfroms the XLT in the goldfields. As far as coin hunting is concerned, in most areas the MXT will get greater depth than the XLT, but, teh XLT has more bells and whistles. Yes, the MXT will be the perfect choice for your needs. Right now, with the purchase of an MXT, you can get an accessory searchcoil, valued up to $249.95, for $49.95. I have considerable experience prospecting with the MXT, and have prepared a pamphlet on otimally tuning the MXT for nuggets. Feel free to email me for advice. Hope this helps; HH jim (OphirAU@msn.com)

Where can we get the pamphlet you mentioned?
