i had to share this....i was in an alley in downtown on friday waiting for some cars to move to leave and i look down and see something metal stuck in one of those big grates that cover like a/c units underground. so i kick it. its stuck. so i kick it again. nothing. so i bend down and pry it out of there and it turns out to be a metal hat. about silver dollar size. i stick it in my pocket and bring it home. i clean it up a little, and it turns out to be .925 silver. 16.5 grams. my biggest silver find and didnt use my detector.
