XLT-Series E Date of Manufacture

Can the whites serial number be deciphered to determine the date of manufacture? I have an XLT-E and would like to know when it was made. I've read that the series E started around 2004 and ended in 2010. Any help or advise will be much appreciated.

It would be best to call the factory and they would be happy to tell you.

[size=large]went round and round about this with whites. they will tell you the manf. date if you call them and give them the serial #s. they will not tell you how to decipher the code. as larry already said. call them.

Thanks for the advise. I sent off an email to Whites yesterday and got my answer today. Quick, easy and no pain.

1st digit = year of manufacture
next 3 = day of that year
middle set of numbers = model number
last set = actual order the detector was made that day

The first four digits of the serial number on my XLT is,
0101-
So I take that to be,
04/xx/2000
Correct?

According to the information I received from Whites, jimmie is correct. And accordingly Mark's detector was made 4/11/2000. First digit 0 = the year 2000. The 0101 is the 101st day of that year which was April 11th.

Well, we know the XLT was no longer in production in 2010,
So I figured "0" would be the year 2000

The next three numbers "101" would have been the 101 day of the year 2000,
So I figured three months is 90 days, (91 being it was leap year)
Jan,
Feb,
Mar, =91 days
Add 10 days into April and you have a production date of,
April,
Monday the 10,
Year 2000

Yes? No?

The problem I see is that with the one digit year "0" could be,
1990, (here I don't think the XLT had started production yet?)
2000, (My question for this production year would be, was the Rainbow XLT in production at that time)
2010, (the XLT I'm sure by this time was out of production)

[size=large]the xlt wasn't out of production til later 2010. i bought mine in may of 2010 and whites told me it had been produced just two weeks earlier. on the inside of the battery cover mine has the yr. 2010 printed. the serial # is to the left of that. so there is something wrong/ incorrect/ in error on this.the first 4 #s are the date of production. the zero here apllies to the year 2010 .the next three is the day of manufacture.then the model and then the production #. you should have your yr. somewhere on the label under the whites symbol.the zero would denote 2000 or 2010. the xlt spectrum was being produced in 2000.the e-series decals weren't put on til 2004.the xlt wasn't produced til 1994. so it depends on what yr. do you have printed on your label and even easier, what decal does your machine have? if a rainbow then yours was made in 2000. so we all arive at the same date. 4/10/2000 or 2010. now that was fun.

It was made February 19th 2001.

I know that does not match up with previous info posted about the E series but I called the factory and that is what she said.

I did not think that he is so old,it seemed to me that in those years did not release a series of e.
