a friend of mine bought a used xlt a few years ago.it still works fine except the screen is starting to fade out.you can barely read the numbers.i told him i would post on this forum and try to get some advice on how to take care of the problem.thanks

It sounds as if the LCD is starting to fail. I would give White's a call and see what it would cost to replace it.

[size=large]The first thing to check is Viewing Angle setting. It might have been inadvertently adjusted causing a poor view of the display. If that doesn't do it, send it to White's in Sweet Home for service.

Have an MXT, the lock-cam on the shaft cracked this is the one located on the control rod portion. I called Whites only to get their distributor for this area. Not able to get Sweet Home. They gave me some off the wall repair shop that does Whites repairs, tried to call them never was able to make contact so gave up. If this is the way Whites does I will not be buying another product from them -granted. Sorry had to vent. Sales no Service!

Sandpiper,

Please do not confuse local distributor for local dealer. We distribute to all the dealers in FL, GA, Al and MS and we only distribute White's products. We pride ourselves on customer service, but at the same time we are not a repair center and unfortunately we do not have the means to make that type of repair here in our shop, otherwise I would have had you send your unit directly to us.

I was the person you spoke with regarding your broken cam-lock. The number I gave you was for the Authorized Repair Center on the east coast, not "some off the wall repair shop". As I do with all my customers should they run into a problem or cannot get into contact with someone, I tell them to give me a call back and we'll get it worked out.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Please call this number 1-888-666-6121, it is a direct line to the factory. Simply ask for the repair department and they will take good care of you.

HH - Andrea H.

Thanks for your reply and the number, I will give them a call. Qoute: (Please do not confuse local distributor for local dealer.) No, what I was referrring to when I called Whites Number listed on their Web page I got your shop instead. I was trying to reach Whites Sweet Home.
