XLT Problem

New member
got my XLT out today after a 4 yr storage rest, and it wouldn't go past the first screen of the ground balance screen and that just flickers. Was stored with out batteries and new ones installed. Passes the voltage check ok. Any ideas??? Thanks

Try cleaning the battery pack contacts (inside and outside) and the contacts inside the detector with some lighter fluid(if you don't have better non-residue contact cleaner).

You can also use fine steel wool on the battery pack contacts but I woundn't get any inside the detector enclosure.

This maneuver fixes some weird White's issues sometimes...whattya got to lose?

What I have used for 40-50- years to clean any contacts that I can get to is a Pencil eraser--It does the job and gets nothing harmful on anything---I have saved many Remotes----cell phone batteries and ect.It will not void any waranties---That MITE be your problem-----Sometimes Ihave had to CUT erasers to fit to use them but pencils are cheep-----------DeathWind1
