XLT or MXT

It will be my first metal detector. I'll use it at Connecticut and Florida beaches as well as at parks ect. . The soil where i live is generally at least somewhat sandy. The DFX looks great, but I am not that smart or patient. The MXT and the MXT 300 have different coils sizes and styles. Everyone seems to like the XLT. I am getting a little info from the local hobby shop, but I feel like I am being sold what is in stock as opposed to what would be best for me. I just bought my son the Prism (he is 10). Thanks in advance for all who can help!

if hitting beaches i would think the mxt would handle the salt better, im sure others will chime in

MXT all the way. Much easier to use and equal to if not more depth than the XLT. With the beach mode its hard to beat on the beaches. Littletwig
