Got the XLT back from Whites......Checked it out and all seems perfect.
Will take it out in the morning (Saturday) and see how it works now.

Per Whites in Oregon.....

They replaced rivets in handle
replaced pod front
replaced broken ribbon cable
replaced scratched LCD window
Tested and inspected entire unit....................
This was a bad deal I made on the forum....................... But it's like new now...............I would be ashamed to tell you how badly I got took on this deal.So I will not..be very careful dealing...It can happen, It works like a Whites now..Very very good !!!!

good point...lets not assume everyone in metal detecting is perfect...like anything else there are some bad apples...was this work under warranty? I hope so...

I did get out..posted on XLT forum it works very well.... Thanks for asking guys have a great hunting weekend..

Good to see your XLT is ok now and suspect the replaced rivet was the main culprit.I bought a used 6000 Di Pro SL and it drove me nuts with false signals when hunting and would false just tapping the control box lightly and sent the detector to Whites Service and they replaced the rivet that mounts control box to the shaft and solved that problem as the worn rivet created a bad ground. Folks who have older detectors should consider this a possible problem if they have stabilty problems or lots of false beeps. Hope you have many good years with the like new XLT . HH Bill
