xlt and mxt

I thought you might get better answers on the Metal Detecting forum, so I moved your question to there.

To me the MXT is a lot hotter in the box. Its great for relic, field, and not to shabby on gold. Its also very simple to use. It a LOT more complicated to use but once learned is an excellent machine. I wouldnt take it raw gold hunting or field hunting if i had an MXT. You can adjust the XLT in a park for EMI a little better than the MXT. BUT.... you can sure loose depth if you dont know what you are doing. Then you feel like you are just picking up coins 3 to 4 inches deep. I think the MXT has a superior GB system. i had the XLT... switched to the MXT just because of the types of hunting i was doing. To me they both have their strong points. Now if you are looking to buy one... decide on your hunting and you might take a look at the DFX over the XLT.

My last detector was an XLT. I vote for the MXT PRO. The XLT may be able to do a lot more but the learning curve is very high. This is my 6Th Whites and by the best so far. I think my old 6000 DI was also just about as good but MXT provides more information for my type of hunting and I can switch modes very quickly.
