XL PRO Will never get old

Today I took my XL PRO out to a park which is fairly new and out of the way in a housing area. I just got my Detector back from Whites for repair after dropping it. Luckily it was in a case, thought it was toast. Put my BigFoot coil on and off I went a hunting. I hunted for two hours and came away with
with 31 Quarters , 15 dimes, 2 nickles and a hand full of pennies. also a religious metal and dog tag. My record before today was 17 quarters.
I just can't praise the XL PRO enough White's should have never stopped making them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more.

Ditto!!!!

The XL Pro is awesome with this mod. I use the
DFX with tone id and now the Pro XL with tone mod
is even better.

Monte, I've seen it said that it was getting too expensive to manufacture them and the parts were getting too hard to get. Could it be true that the transition into the digital age was killing off the supply of analog parts?

True, the XL Pro is no longer available, but Whites will still service them if needed. I would like to think that when they dropped this detector, they inturn introduced the XLT (same freq. 6.592 Khz.) which in my mind has more "bling bling" and about a 100 bucks more. On the flip side, in their latest catalog, they still make/sell the Sierra Madre/ULA-3 w/analog meter. YES the digital age!

There's plenty of electronic component parts made around the world to keep them going, IMO.

Maybe White's should reproduce it and call it the "XL Pro Classic Limited", maybe then the current used unit prices would drop more, so I could afford one.
Maybe if they had enough people who wanted one and pre order it. If they get enough pre orders to start production of a limited run???

federally mandated issue!.."mercury" used in the display!.PLUS more expensive to
manufacture= less "profit margin"...."goodbye!"..one of the "best!"

I had a 5900 DI Pro XL. My hunting buddy had a 6000 DI Pro XL. He also had the smaller 6 inch coin probe coil. We hunted a 1920's school yard and cleaned up on silver quarters, dimes, and halves. This was back in the 1980's when the pickins were pretty darn good:)

Pickins' are still pretty good with my old 6000 DI PRO SL...Workin' old "worked out" schools! :clapping:

i have the 6000 DI PRO SL also..... as long as you've got pin pointing with it down to a science..... it'll find silver all day long when other detectors pass it by..... mine love dimes.... i get tired of diggen em.....
