XL PRO TONES????

D&P-OR

Well-known member
ANY OF YOU GUYS KNOW ANYONE IN THE U.S. THAT DOES THE MULTI-TONE MOD ON THE XL PRO?? IF SO--WHO DOES IT AND WHAT WOULD BE THE COST TO HAVE IT DONE? I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT DONE ON MY XL PRO--BUT CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHO (IF ANYONE) IN THE U.S. WOULD DO IT. THANKS, DEL

Sure hope you get a good answer. I am interested too. Bob

with the Tone ID modes and I found that it worked quite well! :)

The problem I had with it, however, is that is produced only 4 tones and with the excellent analog display and accurate VDI readout of these models, and the XL Pro, I felt like I was cheated because it didn't come up to the 'value' in functionality.

Now, I do 90% and more of my detecting with my modified IDX Pro, which is a 'blend' of the forum-known "Mr. Bill" modifications to a circuitry which was first designed by the 'original' "Mr. Bill", if you will. I know of his terrific work and I did like the 6000 DI Pro SL I had, and while the 4-tone audio did work as it was designed to, I just wanted to have a little more. More tones, or a variable tone more like found on the XLT. It's probably because I like the XLT's Tone ID, but otherwise I don't have a lot of use for Tone ID. Some models, yes, but overall, I can do quite well without it, and as matter of fact, I find the 6000 Di Pro SL and the newer mode, the XL Pro, to have a wonderful audio 'quality' to It.

Hi Monte.
Do you have a multitone IDX PRO ?
I am waiting my IDX PRO from MrBill. He added a ground and a threshold control and I would like to know if it is possible to add the tones.
I had an XL PRO with tone ID, I found it useful only in geb-sat, because I shouldn't look to the screen every sound.
But in the other modes the screen is perfect.

I have a multitone XLPro and i LOVE IT !!

Now i check display only on good signal (or on "far away" iron signal)
I can use GEB/DISC with zero Disc and i can listen good signal close to iron signal without lost...

I've bought my modify in Poland and installed myself.

(Sorry for my english guys)

And pick out the good targets with the 5.3" coil with the tones like I do. I love my tones on my 6000XLPRO. It will really hunt the trashy iron. :D: :D: . HH Jerry aka Tinfoil

Hi Tinfoil, do you use the Polish mod ?
I agree with you, I believe geb sat with tones and the 5.3 coil is a killer mode on the trash iron.
Geb disc is very useful on open spaces, where you have to cover a lot of ground in short time.

Eh eh, Tinfoil, your mod was on my hands some times ago
5 mods on Italy plus 2 on USA :yo:
The Polish inventor is developing another mod, with many tones, like the Explorer's ones.
This is another good product of Mrand:

Has anyone out there with XL Pro have the multi-tone ID modification that they're using? I'm just trying to follow-up Del's request from June '08. It seems that there is this polish guy that had invented it, but he was overseas and no definite address or pricing. Hope someone out there can adapt a similar unit for our XL Pro's and sell it.

Thanks,

TC-NM
