XL pro question......

I can't remember if the self adjust threshold mode is all metal on Xl pro or not. Been a while since I used one.

I do remember thats better on beaches than discrimination.

Eric,

Theory has it that a traditional All Metal mode will detect deeper than the Discriminate mode, but I have found this to vary from one models to another or brand-to-brand. Also, it depends on the Discrimination setting and all the other control set-ups.

Also, I know some people don't care for GEB-SAT because they can't handle the auto-tune speed and get a proper mix of sweep speed to have the best performance. They just don't hear some of the deeper responses.

I have some very mineralized river beaches I hunt in late summer when the water's low and with the XL Pro I get a little better performance using the Discriminate mode set so I am just ignoring the ground ... ie: motion All Metal accept discrimination.

Hi Monte...

good to hear from you. I just loved the SAT mode on the XL pro and got very good results with it. Made my minelab buddies jealouse sometimes:lol:

I just never know exactly if its deeper than the disc mode. I never really tested it though...

Thanks for your comments Monte and elton.

It only takes a quick mode change and sweep across the targets to check-it-out. That way you'd know which mode and sweep speed you can benefit from at any particular site.
