XL PRO on

diggindirt

New member
the way. I would GREATLY appreciate any tips on using this famous machine! I also have the 5.3 coil coming too. Please let me know as many procedures and tricks for using under various hunting conditions....lots of trash, parks, open fields.........etc! It's really nice to be back with White's again, thanks!

smart money says you use your 9.5" coil for open fields, and other areas that are relatively devoid of trash.for park hunting,WAIT for the 5.3 coil to arrive, and keep it on ALL the time when hunting park areas,AND all other ares where there is an abundance of trash!.just make sure you properly ground balance, and run the signal balance as "HOT" as you can without the detector sounding erratic.your manual will instruct you as to how to set the (gb),and the (s.b.) controls
by setting your s.b. as hot as you can at a given site, the detector will give you the best depth for the conditions encountered.

Monte is the guy you want to answer your questions. He has over 40 years of detecting experience and knows the XL Pro inside and out. I believe Monte's advice about adjusting the Threshold, Signal Balance and Ground Balance is the best foundation for everything else you do with an XL Pro.

Try running a "Search" for posts authored by Monte. Select the option to "Search Only this Forum" and the option "All Dates". You will find a wealth of information.

Good luck, Bob

One nice thing about the XL Pro is that it is really simple to get into action and adjust the maximum performance settings.

Another great thing is that White's not only made a super detector in the XL Pro, but they also made what I consider to be the best coil to compliment it's abilities ... on the the 6

Hey Monte,

thanks for the great tips on using this machine! The XL-Pro just arrived today and I can't wait to take it out to play. The build quality on this detector is amazing and it's well balanced ( I could swing this all day long). Anyway, I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as I learn to use this machine under various conditions. Once again, it's nice to know there's a great support system out there!
Thanks!!!
