XL Pro in Indian country

Bowie

New member
Was asking several days ago about relic hunting with the Pro or maybe the M6 with a larger coil. Went with the pro.
I was very lucky enough to be invited to hunt some old plantation sites and one site where a plantation stood was also once an Indian village with several Indian mounds still standing.
I found numerous iron pieces, but couldnt make heads nor tails of it because it was rusted so bad, but luck struck again. I was hunting in SAT mode and caught a good signal, nothing that sounded like the iron or iron nails i had been digging, looked at the meter and it was stuck on the P of Penny. Pinpointed,5 inches deep it said, dug my hole and out popped an Indian Head Penny,my first one. I dont know why but Ive always coveted finding one, lol. Later, got a signal that didnt sound like a coin but the meter shot up to Penny and stayed there, made a hole and found a small piece of unidentifiable iron, ran my coil over the hole again and nothin, ran it over my pile and got a signal, pinpointed with the Bullseye and came up with a Wheatie. It didnt really hit me till I was driving home, I found the penny in the same hole with the iron and the meter made a good call.
Very good day for me all around, good friends, pretty day and a good find.
Wanted to thank all of you guys for the input and encouragement to use the XL Pro,but, I still wanna give the M6 a try at it.
Thanks!!

Good finds Bowie. That XL Pro is my pick as I sold my M6 shortly after using it even though within 15 minutes of using it I dug an 1865 2 center, It just didn't do for me what the Pro does. I am 100% positive the Pro would have also hit the 2 center. I guess different strokes for different folks but the Pro is one of my favorites. My other favorite is a Minelab Advantage.
