I have been hunting a park for several years now, that most people would say was hunted out! I was searching a hill that had produced some wheat's and a half dollar clad. Today with my XL PRO with Bigfoot coil. I heard a scratchy sound with a good ping too it. I dug down 4" and out popped a "1908 D Barber coin in VG condition" . Needless to say I was surprised:thumbup: I wish White's had never stopped making the XL PRO. In my opinion it is one of the best detectors ever made ! Sorry no pictures, as my camera is packed away for our trip to Alaska. We are leaving in about 3 hours for a cruise:clapping:

Howdy Craig

I see you still have the XL Pro, looks like you have had some luck with it (what kind of Barber?). Still using the bigfoot?

My favorite coil for my 6000 Pro XL is the 5.3 BullsEye coil, it goes deep with the signal balance adjusted higher than pre-set.

With the Bullseye coil setup and a hot signal ballance setting, you can swing it fast or swing it much slower than a normal sweep speed.

And it will separate targets better with less masking of good targets.

Oops ! I should have said it was a quarter dollar. I think they will have to pry the XL pro from my hands when I get too old to detect ! I use the Bigfoot about 90 % of the time. I have the Elminator coil for tight in spots or under power lines.

Any past productive site will usually produce more targets.Try different modes, sweep angles, less discrimination, wet or dry soil, coils.I regularly revisit sites that have produced in the past and almost always leave with coins or jewelry that I've missed.DBULL
