XL PRO does it again in so called hunted out area:thumbup:

I have been hunting a park for several years now, that most people would say was hunted out! I was searching a hill that had produced some wheat's and a half dollar clad. Today with my XL PRO with Bigfoot coil. I heard a scratchy sound with a good ping too it. I dug down 4" and out popped a 1908 D Barber coin in VG condition. Needless to say I was surprised:thumbup: I wish White's had never stopped making the XL PRO. In my opinion it is one of the best detectors ever made ! Sorry no pictures, as my camera is packed away for our trip to Alaska. We are leaving in about 3 hours for a cruise:clapping:

Nice going away gift. We expect a picture when you return. JK Nice work !

Congrats on the nice coin!
I also use an XL Pro and love it. Went out the other day for a half day and nailed 195 coins, 3 rings, 2 necklace pendants, 3 bullets, 2 watches. Along with a ton of bottle caps, pull tabs, and tin foil...
Like mine so much I just bought another one.LOL

Way to go on your results, even though you are plucking them from 'area turf.' Oh well, I do the same thing. :)

Did you buy the new-to-you XL Pro locally or off the Internet? I haven't found many showing up around here for sale. Along with their Classic IDX Pro and maybe one or two other models, the XL Pro is still atop the list, in my opinion, of all detectors White's has offered. For the investment, you can't beat the simplicity, excellent needle meter display, and very impressive depth potential of the XL Pro. I sure wish it would be resurrected w/o compromising the performance it provides.

Congrats on your success the other day and also on grabbing another XL Pro!

Hey, Monte! Traded a nice QXT Pro and a little cash for the XL Pro off another forum. It is in like new condition. Figured I use it so much, might as well get another one. Was thinking about one with the tone mods. Hav'nt tried one of those yet. Been actually seeing a few lately. There's one on CL right now, Seattle area for a decent price.
You hunt the Portland, metro area? I don't seem to get out as much as I used to. But trying to. Guess it gives my area's time to restock. Did manage a bit of silver the other day at one park. We pulled 3 silver dimes. 1 rosie and 2 mercs. My buddy also pulled a silver dollar and silver 2 halves at a park the other day using the MXT Pro..

A thin-profile 8" or 950 for more open areas, but I'd usually work it with the 6

Maybe one day we will have to hook up and hunt. I met you once at D&K on Division. I bought a new model compass detector while you were there. That was quite a few years ago.
