XL-PRO Battery life?

HaroldILL.

Active member
I was wondering how far down do you guys with the XL-PRO let your battery's get before replacement? The manual says 50 ,But that seems awful low as it is way out of the red battery bar indicate for battery check. Thanks.

If you have an actual volt setting across the meter to see the range, I always changed my batteries on other units went the went down to 9 volts. It all depends on how well the machine is still acting when your batteries are getting low. I tend to notice a decline in performance and change them then, Tim

I use rechargeables and recharge them after every use, so they are fully charged with each hunt. With the disposables, I simply turned on battery check, and if it said replace, I replaced. If it didn't say replace, but was low on the scale, I'd go ahead and replace them if I thought they might give out while hunting.

Hi,
I don

Yes but how low on the scale do you go as they say 50 ,But that is out of the red indicater on the battery checkbar? They say at 50 it won't respond to metal so even 70 is out of the red but they still work. I never liked rechargables just out of habit I guess,But the xl-pro does suck up the juice though. I guess it is all that raw power they have as dug a wheatie yesterday 8'' down and slightly tilted with the 5.3 coil! My E-trac and CZ-3D some how missed it? And it even locked on the d in dime on the meter.
