XL Pro along creek bed, water

New member
Hello,

I just purchased a new XL Pro and was wondering how some of you do in highly mineralized ground and along creek beds near water. Just sold my 5900/DI Pro Plus for this one. By the way, I just bought my XL Pro at Kellyco for $449, the local White's dealer has it listed at $625. I thought this was an awesome deal that I couldn't pass on...would love to have supported my local dealer...but, he said he couldn't match the price.

Any input would be appreciated!

I enjoy using all of my detectors along freshwater lakes and rivers for coin and jewlery hunting. That includes the XL Pro. While I usually opt for the manual GB Shadow X5 or IDX Pro (modified) I still like to use the XL Pro for the more open areas.

If you're referring to handling 'creek beds' and you're looking for gold nuggets, that's something a little different. The XL Pro, like most of the lower-frequency models, isn't known for being a top contender as a small nugget hunting detector. However, I do use it and others to help locate black sand pockets along gold bearing rivers/streams/creeks and it does 'OK'. Sill prefer the manual GB models, but it does 'OK.'

Monte...I'm hunting civil war relics, or anything that happens to just come along. It seemed easier to ask a question instead of RTFM (reading the fricking manual). I'm just looking to get out the gates as fast as I can with finding things. :)
