I was wondering about this detector from people who use it. I have come close to buying one many times,But for one reason or another didn't. I have always wanted one for years. I hear people rave about them. What are the good bad points other than finding a clean one for sale? Thanks for all reply's.

Go for it Harold, never heard one bad word about the X L Pro, one of the finest

Analog Metered detectors Whites produced, go for the small box one in good

condition, and get ready to have some fun, the stock coil works great, and the

smaller coils are still available, the meter is bang on if it says Tab then it is a Tab.

Mine is a keeper. easy to use and finds the goodies.

Good Luck and H H.

You are so right! One of the best as Leslie said.

Harold,ILL., They are dead-nuts accurate. Here is a little something that I noticed over the years. When I start detecting, I watch the needle carefully. If it locks on say a penny, dime, quarter, half or dollar and the needle doesn't budge, you have a good target, about 95% of the time. If you see the needle say hover around a nickel but doesn't lock <AND> the needle twitches every so slightly in the nickel range, you gotta pulltab. Bottle caps for instance will be chattery in your hear them but needle will hover around the quarter VDI. Again, these are my observations.

Here is my cheat sheet that I take with me everytime I use my XL Pro, enjoy!

XL Pro Quick Set-Up for General Hunting

1. Place all controls to their PRESET position except MODE, set this to GEB/NORM Squeeze and Release Trigger on the handle.

2. Hold the coil at waist level. Squeeze and Hold Trigger; adjust TUNER control for slight threshold. Release Trigger.

3. Keeping the coil at waist level, Push the AUTO GEB switch to AIR and Hold it. . . wait for

Hi TC-NM and all the users on this machine
thank you for posting the information on how to set-tune the XL PRO, I find that information very usefull.
I just got a 6000 XL PRO and took it for a short hunt and found few coins but just followed the instructions on the box it self.
Can those settings that you use on the XL PRO be use on the 6000?
I will apreciate any imput in this question, and all the experts and users of this machine are wellcome to provide feed back on it.
Thank you all.
