The GPS tracking is almost useless to me because of the limitations in xChange2 that will not allow you to zoom in far enough. If you hunt a small area, all you get is a blob if you have many findpoints. I have attached a file showing the maximium zoom in xChange2, and the same area zoomed in a little closer in Google Earth. I think the xChange2 software really needs an update; what do you think?
I have been using handheld GPS units for years with various other mapping programs (all of which will allow you to zoom in as far as you want). I have almost all of my relic and coin finds for the past 10+ years as well as my hunts mapped out. The CTX 3030 with the Xchange2 software don't even come close. On top of that, you can't export your findpoints and tracks to other programs. I use Backcountry Navigator on my Android phone now, and it does a fantastic job.
Great idea Minelab, but you still have a lot of work to do as far as your built-in GPS and software goes.
