XChange2 Question

BrakingGnus

New member
Maybe this has happened to someone else. I fired up Xchange2 this evening to play around a bit. The 3030 screen says, 'USB Connected', but there is no CTX icon showing up in Xchange2. Makes it difficult to get anything done. Ideas anyone? I've uninstalled and reinstalled Xchange2 a couple of times but still no Icon. It used to work just fine.

MMmmm... that I can't explain... Is there an update icon just to the left of Exchange header.. looks like a exclamation point? might be the issue...

With the XChange2 app on, once you have connected the CTX to the computer and you have turned on the CTX, does the CTX screen indicate that you are connected?

No indication that it is connected on the Xchange2 screen. The USB Connected message is on the CTX display as it should be. I have tried all of my USB ports. Same outcome.

Check your Firewall or Anti virus & look under recent activity to see if your connection was quarantined.. Your anti virus may have auto protected your computer and blocked the communication while & some Anti virus programs ask you if you give the CTX permission to access your computer or not.

Just a Thought! Could it be a bad cable?

I could be a bad cable, but it has only been used once before and it was perfect. It is almost like the USB driver on the PC has gone casters up or something. I'm thinking about installing XC2 on another PC and upgrading it with the new version and then connecting to see what happens.

Have you unplugged the cable from the CTX and plugged it back in? It could be a bad connection. Have you installed any new software on the PC since the last time it worked? Have you run Windows Update to install any new updates? Does Windows see the CTX when you examine the Windows drivers?

Other than that it could be anything, CTX error, USB driver error, USB hardware failure, firewall, malware or anti-virus blocking the CTX, USB cable. Try another PC or start eliminating possible problems one at a time starting with the easiest.

If it doesn't come up on the other computer, you might try resetting the CTX. Wouldn't think that would help, but you never know....(You will loose custom and modified programs and settings, by performing the reset.)

Has your issue been resolved.. Pm me if it hasn't... Evan
