Xchange2 Problems

David53

Member
I have Windows 10 and even after I updated my CTX3030 Xchange2 software, I still am unable to copy programs people have developed to my Xchange2 software.

Or is there an area where I can find CTX3030 Programs displayed through a screen shot.

Programming the CTX without using Xchange2 is doable, but it just takes a little bit more time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought when downloading a program from the net you have to first to save it directly to CTX drive when machine is connected to computer, then open xchange and edit file with CTX connected. Top left of screen in xchange you will see the CTX listed click on that and you should see the program ,save to new folder in xchange and edit and drag the file back to the CTX ..

Not answering your question, but asking another. Why did you go with Windows 10?
My reason for asking is this......(Vista-8 etc...). It may have come on your computer
new if you just bought it. I have 7 and they have offered it to me for free to change
from 7 to 10 for the last 4 months. Every time I turn my computer on. It has not yet
been a proven program and my brother had vista and ended up having to trash the
laptop all together.

Again, I apologize for bringing this into the picture here but if you upgraded from a
working program such as 7 to windows 10 I would seriously think about going back
to seven. I am into computers pretty deep and considered the move to 10 but when
I started reading the problems associated with 10 I quickly changed my mind.

Are you trying to copy a file or are you importing a file. I was able to import the files with no issues using WIndows 10.

I will resist the massive privacy intrusion that is Win10 as long as my Win7 can hold out. I am currently looking for an appropriate laptop to buy, wipe, and install Linux onto. (sorry for rant. its one of my buttons)

Minelab Xchange2 functions perfectly OK for me in Windows 10.

I cleared, by deleting, all other folders out of the red column of Xchange2, that I thought were unnecessary.
The three remaining ones can not be deleted, so they remain.

After you have downloaded one or any other of the *.mlf files to a directory on your computer, plugged your CTX3030 in and started Xchange2, you should see and hear the CTX3030 plugged in and you should be ready to go.

I found it easier to deal with this matter by creating a new folder in the RED right had column of Xchange2. This cab be done by clicking on the + icon next to COLLECTIONS at top of red column.

I called mine MLFS. It can be called what ever you like.

Click on the icon (with blue arrow pointing at it in red column called FILE). You then need to import (blue arrow on right top pointing at import switch) any one of the MLF files of your choice that you have download and stored on you pc.

Drag and drop the relative file into the folder you created like my MLFS folder and you'll be able to edit that file completely and then drag it into you CTX3030 folder when you've completed what ever you need to adjust. You can also drag and drop files from the CTX3030 intself into this new folder and alter by editing and save them back.

If you're not aware of this , there is also some info here

that should help:
