X8 & X12

I just ordered both coils (X12 backordered). I was wondering if anyone used any different programming for either or both of these coils over what they use for the stock coil? I mainly coin hunt but also do a little relic hunting (Civil War).
I've had the Explorer since September but haven't really set the world on fire with it yet. I have found a little silver this past month with it, but nothing like the things that are being posted on the FBS forum. Hopefully, it is just me and these new coils will help. I'm also hoping that some of you may have a few tips too.
Thanks,
Alton

I too havent set the world on fire with my Explorer and I have had it for 2 years, but lot of this is the site more than anything else I beleive. The Explorer has realy impressed me with some of the finds mine gets, but dont find enough like we see posted on these fourms. There are many finds on this fourm that are totaly awsome that we all would like to find.
I do beleive that a person should learn their Explorer well before going to a bigger coil and this goes for the Sovereign too. I do feel the smaller coil will help in the learning of any detector and found the X8 a Excellent coil to learn the Explorer. I just set my gain a little higher and run a higher sensitivity and know the depth meter will show deeper than it realy is.
I have a X12 too right now, but wont get a chance to try it untill this spring unless when I go to NJ this next week I find a place to try it. If it works as good as the S 12 Intruder for the Sovereign does it will be a real winner.

There ain't no fires around these parts!!! To darn wet to start a fire. Had a few little sparks last fall but they got drowned by all that silver those guys back east are finding.
I have had the x-8 for 8 months and love it. It sorts stuff out of places I couldn't even touch with the 10". The settings for the X-8 are just a little hotter than you can get with the 10".I have had the X-12 for a month. The settings for the X-12 for the most part are pretty much the same as the 10" . I have put the 10" away. I really like the X-12 better.

LOL, I lived in Bremerton for 18 months in a previous life, and I know what you mean about wet. Beautiful place. Almost too pretty to worry about hunting living there.
Thanks for the info as that is pretty much exactly what I need to know.
