1st week with the 70 and I really like it! Ladies Fossil watch at abut 5". Can't believe the lawn mower didn't eat it!

Were you just using the stock 9" coil?

What is the ground balance reference number for most of the areas you're hunting around there?

Thanks!

Monte

I'm in Sandy, Utah. The soil conditions live up to the name. I am a new user so excuse me if this doesn't sound accurate...

I auto GB'd in all metal mode and do not remember where the 70 settled but, it seemed like it was around 16. Hunted in pattern one. I am using the 9 "/7.5khz stock coil and have the 18.75 on order. There is a lot of clay in the ground here and I have noticed the conditions change pretty often. Being a newbie, I have been running through ground balance several times an outing. I will definitely take better notes next time out on the settings and let you know. Seems like this would be a good idea anyway if I plan to return to the same areas! BTW the watch TID was 42/44.

sometime this spring from a ghost town visit, and to see some friends and family.

Shoot me an E-mail, if you'd like, and give me your contact phone number. Perhaps we can get together for a little detecting?

With any good fortune, the smaller coil ought to be available by then, too. :)

You're welcome to E-mail and discuss some of the X-Terra 70's questions and performance as time goes by. A lot of the ground there is pretty decent, in the long run. Did you get it from J&J?

Good luck on your next jaunts out with the great spring weather that's arrived!
